Our Love Story

Our journey together began in May of 1997. Tira was a senior in high school just about to graduate, and Tavon was working and figuring out his young adulthood. As was customary back in the late 90’s, we were riding around downtown Baltimore when we met. Some may say we have been inseparable from that day forward. The summer of ’97 was one for the record books. We spent nearly every day together. From Bennigan’s, to Harbor Park movies, to Columbia Lake, to Kings Dominion and more. We dated dated!!! We can truly say that we took the time to get to know one another and became best friends. We met each other’s families and realized that we both come from good stock! A couple of years later, as life would have it, we were blessed to become parents to our first-born son, Tavon. And Life began Life’ing! Despite the challenges of being young, first time single parents we continued to support one another, stay committed and achieve goals together…graduations, homeownership, promotions, etc… And on January 1, 2004 (Tira’s 25th birthday) at Flemings Restaurant, Tavon proposed and we were officially engaged. One year later, we were married on August 6, 2005 in front of 200 of our family and friends. Believe us, this journey hasn’t always been easy, but God knows it has always been worth it! 

But that’s not where our story ends…3 years later, we were blessed yet again to welcome our 2nd and final piece to our family puzzle of 4. Titus was born in April 2008.
